Authorities in Islamabad have busted a gruesome illegal operation at a Tarnol farmhouse where donkey meat was allegedly being processed for sale, potentially even overseas.
The Islamabad Food Authority, working with local police and district administration, raided the property, uncovering approximately 25 maunds (over 900 kilograms) of donkey meat. All of the seized meat was immediately destroyed. In a more humane turn, officials also rescued around 60 live donkeys from the premises.
A foreign national found at the scene was arrested and is now in police custody for further investigation. Initial findings suggest this wasn’t just a local issue; the donkey meat was allegedly being supplied within the country and was also part of a larger, international supply chain.
